Cruise Vacations: Strengths and Weaknesses of Royal Caribbean Cruises

If you have decided to set sail on a cruise vacation, it is important that you find the best cruise line to meet the needs and preferences of your family. All cruise lines will have their good and not so good qualities, and you will need to weigh these to figure out which cruise line you want to sail with. Royal Caribbean is one of the biggest and most popular cruise lines in the industry, leading many to select a Royal Caribbean cruise vacation. However, just like other cruise choices, there are strengths and weaknesses of Royal Caribbean cruises.

Strengths

When weighing the strengths and weaknesses of Royal Caribbean cruises, you will find that the strengths are many indeed. First, this cruise line may very well offer more choices in onboard activities than any other cruise company. Some of the larger ships will offer passengers the opportunity to enjoy ice skating, rock wall climbing, miniature golf, basketball and plenty of options in entertainment. This wide variety of things to do gives passengers plenty of choices during those days at sea when there is nothing else but to enjoy the amenities the ship has to offer. Because of the size of many of these ships, there are also ample opportunities to find a quiet corner for some down time as well.

Another aspect to consider when weighing the strengths and weaknesses of Royal Caribbean cruises is the dining experience. After all, eating is a big part of cruising today. Most critics will agree that the food aboard a Royal Caribbean ship is on par with most of the other major cruise lines today. If you have ever had the pleasure of dining on any cruise ship, you will know that this means that your taste buds will be in for a treat every night on your Royal Caribbean cruise.

Weaknesses

Sometimes the best way to weigh the strengths and weaknesses of Royal Caribbean cruises is by talking to folks who have actually taken a cruise vacation on one of these ships. Some of the former passengers with Royal Caribbean have found limited selections in places to grab a bite to eat, with little available poolside and only a handful of eating areas to choose from. Also, while ice skating is a big hit on this cruise ship, the hours available for skating tend to be very limited and are often around the dinner hours. This makes it difficult to find a good time to indulge in this activity. Finally, many Royal Caribbean passengers may find that the service on Royal Caribbean is less attentive, probably due to the fact that the ships are so large.

Every cruise line has its good points and not so good points. When looking at the strengths and weaknesses of a Royal Caribbean cruise, most vacationers will agree that there are many more good points than bad.
